India's first BrailleFlag created by SECI recognized by NABIndia

At the 63rd Founder Day of National Association of Blind India chapter at Mumbai on January 20, the tactile flag conceived by Sankara Eye Care Institutions, India was adopted as the accessible flag of India. Smt Vijayalakshmi, Chairman Bank of India was the chief guest. The day also saw blind achievers and those working for the blind being recognized by NAB.

The tricolours of the flag are depicted through different textures that enable one to appreciate the different colours. A raised chakra at the centre of the flag allows the blind to feel the Ashoka Chakra with its 24 spokes. The colours and features of the flag are explained in Braille alongside the flag.
India is the third country, after UK and the USA to have a tactile Braille flag
