Från http://www.dispatch.co.za/ the Colours of the Buffalo Volunteer Rifles (formerly the Kaffarian Rifles).

Image
Sketch of the new Colour presented in 2001. The Colour is Dark Green with a wreath of the South African National Flower the Protea. The Aloe denotes connection with the Border and the Xhosas which made up much of the ranks. In the middle the Regimental Badge with the Bugle denoting Rifle status above. The Motto Nunc animus translates as "Now with courage" or "Now without fear".

The battle honours are: Gaika Gcaleka 1877-1878 (the year 1877 has been acknowledged as a new honour with only 1878 being represented on the old colour); Bechuanaland 1897; South Africa 1899-1902; South West Africa 1914-1915; Western Desert 1941-1943; Bardia; SWA/ Angola 1975-1976; SWA Angola 1976-1989; SWA/Zambia 1979.
